KK Raman is currently serving as Executive Director in Advisory Services and Head of the Software Process Improvement Practice of KPMG, handling Strategic Advisory Services encompassing Model based, Six Sigma and Process Improvement Advisory Services. He is also a IT Sub LOB domain champion for the firm.

As a business leader, KK has guided and directed over 200 Advisory Engagements covering areas such as IS Governance, Sourcing Advisory, Process, IT Projects Evaluation, IT Security, Organizational Performance / Human Capital Reviews and Assessments for KPMG both in India and abroad . KK has the distinction of being one of the few SEI Authorized lead assessors for CMM (Capability Maturity Model), CMMI (CMM Integration) and PCMM (People CMM) Product suites in the Asia Pacific Region. And one of the few internationally to have done a high number of process maturity assessments ( 60 CMM assessments at maturity levels from 3 to 5 and three authorization assessments ( which helps the SEI create new Lead Assessors for the community), apart from around 50 SCAMPI assessments including Higher Maturity Appraisals for Industry Leaders .
KK has served on the review panels and pilot initiatives for new models and frameworks from the SEI. He is also an executive member of SPIN BLR chapter, member of European SEPG review panels, member of Institute of Public Auditors and is active on NASSCOM, CII panels and conferences in the field. KK serves as a IT Sub LoB Champion for KPMG India as an Advisory Partner . KK holds an Engineering Degree and MBA(PGDM) from IIM, Bangalore and brings over 18 years of varied technology, management and consulting experience

KK has done his Masters in Business Administration from IIM, Bangalore, with specialisation in Information Technology Management, Finance and Strategic Planning.
He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics & Telecommunications from REC (NIT), Trichy, India
He has completed the ISO Lead Assessor Course conducted by CII / Cran Field University, UK and is also authorized on SEI-CMM model , CMMI, PCMM and SCAMPI Higher Maturity Assessments (SEI ID: 0100079-00 ) by SEI, Carnegie Mellon University
He has also been trained on Malcolm Baldridge Business Excellence Model Schematic. In addition, he has undergone courses on General Management and IT Strategy/Audit at the IAS and National Audit Academies and IS Governance at KPMG, Sydney

KK spearheaded the evolution of quality management system procedures and software process improvement activities in a premier telecom organization, covering both telecom switching and transmission technology systems. He was also instrumental in initiating strategic planning and associated change management cum training initiatives. He has also been associated with a leading software house in the fields of Quality Systems, IT Audit and SW Process Improvement and was part of the senior managers committee for SW project management covering development, conversion and maintenance/enhancement types of IT projects for global clients.
He has also held a senior position as part of Comptroller and Auditor General of India. As Deputy Accountant General in charge of Tamil Nadu State, he was heading the IT function and was instrumental in planning and development of IT strategy for the department, in addition to initiating and handling the IT and performance audit function. He took care of the entire change management process, involved in managing the transition to computerization covering around 2000 employees. He was also responsible for overseeing IT process improvement activities both internally and with reputed software subcontractors.
Raman thus brings a unique perspective, combining an in-depth appreciation of IT Process Management with its inter- relations with Business and IT Strategies for the company and an extensive strategy and management experience as applied to the IT sector.
