Ranjit heads the BPO Division of HCL Technologies Ltd (HCL BPO). As President & CEO, Ranjit has been instrumental in the rapid growth of HCL BPO during the last few years. The organization has grown from a headcount of 30 in September 2001 to over 13,000 employees today.

Under his leadership, HCL BPO witnessed phenomenal growth in size and revenues (USD 233.75 million*). The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) rated HCL BPO in the “Leaders” category and ranked the organization 11th among global service providers. The Black Book of Outsourcing ranked HCL BPO 4th globally among Business Process Outsourcing vendors. Frost & Sullivan ranked the organization among the Top 3 Contact Centers in Asia Pacific. HCL BPO is the first BPO organization in the world to be successfully appraised at Maturity Level 3 of People CMM. The organization featured among the Top 20 Best Employers in India by the Hewitt survey conducted in association with The Economic Times, and ranked 3rd in the DQ-IDC Employee Satisfaction survey 2008.

Today, HCL BPO is among the Top 5 service providers in the UK market for Life & Pensions, and is the first Indian BPO to enter the Telecommunications Expense Management (TEM) space. HCL BPO ranks among the Top 10 ITES-BPO companies in India (NASSCOM). The organization is the largest BPO service provider in Northern Ireland, and is Asia’s largest 3rd party Telecom service provider. HCL is the recipient of the prestigious NOA (National Outsourcing Association) Special Award for consistent excellence for outsourcing practice across all disciplines. HCL was also awarded the first ‘Investor of the Year’ Award by the UK Trade & Industry Board.

Prior to joining HCL BPO in 2002, Ranjit headed the Operations of HCL Technologies’ largest Application Software Development Centre. Under his leadership this Centre grew rapidly by over five times in three years.

He was the President of the Pondicherry Chamber of Industries during 1996-99. Ranjit holds an excellent academic record, and graduated with distinction from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras with a B Tech in Electrical Engineering. He holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and is the recipient of its Roll of Honours. More recently, the Rotary Club Madras Coromandel honored Ranjit with the “For the Sake of Honor Award”.
