2001-2003 District Collector, Nagapattinam
Launched a mega wage employment scheme to ensure assured wages to 300,000 farm workers who were reeling under drought.
Successfully implemented a 3-month Free Rice and 2 month Free Cooked Lunch distribution program for 200,000 families to pre-empt starvation due to famine.
Installed a first ever floating pontoon bridge thorough a public-private-partnership over the National Highway linking Nagapattinam District to the mainstream.
Created a Guinness World Record by planting 80,244 trees in 24 hours using a team of 300 persons. This coastal plantation saved a village two years later from Asian Tsunami.
2000-2001 Deputy Commissioner, Commercial Taxes, Chennai

Energized a team of 1100 workers and 100 managers to turn around city governance. Drinking water supply improved 20%, Garbage collection by 45%, and revenue collection by 120%. Decreased non-burning street light from 30% to 2%.
Constructed 102 new children’s parks with an objective to bring residents together.
Transformed a stinking 150 acre Central Garbage Dumping Yard into a beautiful forest with a Compost Yard by planting 10000 trees.
Completely re-engineered and automated Business Processes which has been replicated in other City Corporations. Outsourcing of Street Lights Maintenance is a National Model today.
My paper highlighting these achievements was selected as a ‘Good and Best Practice’ at Dubai International Award for Best Practices 2000.

Tsunami Rehabilitation, Jan 2005
Co-founded BITSUNAMI Trust along with my college (BITS) alumni association to launch a US $ 1.2 million rehabilitation and development effort adopting two villages in Nagapattinam. Motivated Manpower Inc to fund another US $ 1 million for a HR Training Institute in the Tsunami affected Nagapattinam.
Broke our previous Guinness World Record by planting 254,464 trees in 24 hours using 300 persons. This was organized in collaboration with District Administration of Nagapattinam.
Partnered with Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani to start their first ever Social Sector Practice School station for students.
Free Artificial Limb Camps 2000 onwards
Have been associated with Adinath Jain Trust in organizing free artificial limb camps annually since 2000 at Chennai. During last 6 camps 30,000 physically challenged persons were fitted with artificial limbs spending $ 3m.
