Chief Executive Officer, Citec Engineering Oy Ab


Martin is a dynamic industry leader with extensive industry experience in global engineering projects, and possesses excellent abilities in building long-term business partnerships with customers. He has been at the helm of Citec Engineering Oy Ab as the Chief Executive Officer, since 2005.

Citec Engineering has currently about 600 employees world-wide, and offers complete engineering solutions in mechanical, automation & electricity, civil & structural, process & environment engineering as well as product development and project management services.

In his earlier responsibilities, Martin Strand was Vice President, Customer Relations, Citec Engineering Oy Ab during the period 2004-2005

Prior to that, he was General Manager, Projects, Central Region, Wärtsilä Oy, Power Plants, 2001- 2003 and General Manager, Engineering & Projects, Wärtsilä France, 1999-2001

He is fluent in English, German, Swedish and Finnish and has basic knowledge in French.

Martin Strand (M.Sc., Process Engineering, Åbo Akademi University) was born November 7th, 1954. He is married and has three sons.

Citec has a 100% EOU and STPI registered units in Navi Mumbai and Chennai.



Interestingly, the Indian workforce of Citec numbers 255 against a global workforce of 590 and this figure of the Indian workforce is expected to go upto 350 by December 31, 08. Citec is thus seen as an India friendly company and also as a good place to work for.



With the Indo US nuclear treaty round the corner, Citec is going to gain power projects in India.



A new international contract with Wartsila which is also Citec's customer in India has also been just inked. Other international customers of Citec include Boeing, Foster Wheeler, Ruukki, Kraftanlagen Munchen, ABB, Kvaerner, Nokia, Ericsson and Rolls-Royce.



Citec has recently entered the offshore oil and gas sector which is a natural extension of the company's already existing outsourcing expertise in onshore oil and gas, industrial and commercial and thermal and engine based power plants.



In the case of Descon, one of the major fabricators in the Middle East, Citec has entered into a long-term contract to provide structural detailing services using Tekla Structures (which is the latest designing software tool).
