M.R. Rajagopalan

"We are working at the promotion of Open Source, in education and Government. MOUs have been signed with the Governments of Chattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. We are looking at a 3-year timeline to promote BOSS (Bharat Operating System Solutions), an Indian operating system supporting 22 Indian languages, and assisting in migrating from other platforms."

M.R.Rajagopalan is a graduate in Electronics engineering from MIT; Chennai and has over 25 years of experience in the field of IT. When he was with MCIT, GOI he had been associated with the conceptualization and setting up of Appropriate Automation Promotion programme centers under UNDP. His research interest have included development of Track Monitoring System for Indian Railways, Distributed / Hierarchical Control system for Process industries, Real Time System and was involved in the design development and implementation of SCADA system for Powergrid.



Rajagopalan is presently working as Director C-DAC, Chennai and Coordinator National Resource Centre for Free/Open Source software (NRCFOSS)
