Akshaya Gaur

“Let me tell you about driving ‘Green IT’ through server virtualisation. Standard Chartered is committed to sustainability and protecting the environment. Software Solutions has contributed to this commitment by delivering Green IT through server virtualisation. We have virtualised about 90 servers. What does that mean? We have saved 423,984 kWh of electricity per annum. That is not all. This initiative has cut down CO2 emissions by about 268 tonnes – equivalent to planting 367 trees!! While it is a great start, we need to consider what more we can do as an organisation and an industry to deliver Green IT – to continue to make a bigger and better impact on the environment we live in.”
